ARCHITECTURE Acoustic

ARCHITECTURE Acoustic quality three-dimensional wood design Sound-reducing solid wood profiles for interior design Wood displays an expressive aesthetic with the variable design of the new PINUMONT profiles. This innovative product idea has a shaping effect in terms of surface and depth. A three-dimensional design creates a striking look that gives a special effect to any building. In addition, this new product from MOCOPINUS combines design diversity and simple realisation in one universal system. PINUMONT is an innovative design concept for creating three-dimensional ceilings and interior wall panels, as well as for wooden façades with a high-quality finish. A horizontal, vertical, open or closed design is possible from just two basic profiles to suit the customer’s individual requirements. In addition, this imaginative system development provides special application solutions for ceiling suspensions with very good sound-absorbing properties, and impresses as a preassembled room divider. Components can also be integrated to create attractive light effects. This enables sustainable planning concepts to be implemented in a consistent design for both indoors and outdoors. Using the same materials also creates a symbiosis between the building’s architecture and the interior surfaces, the effect of which is to intensify the natural expression. Creative design concepts for rooms with charisma The advantageous properties of solid wood elements are in particular demand for modern interior designs of offices and administrative buildings, public buildings, hotels and restaurants. The current trend is very much to combine the cosy ambience of wood with materials such as concrete and glass that have a more puristic look. This mix of materials delivers extraordinary architectural concepts. The strengths of PINUMONT are particularly noticeable in the extensive dimensions inside buildings that are constructed with high rooms and large areas. The profiles successfully refine ceilings and walls with a three-dimensional look. MOCOPINUS manufactures the profiles in Siberian larch specially for indoor areas with drying to 14 %. The surfaces also have a distinctive microfluting. This creates an almost unique feel that fulfills the demand for high material quality indoors. The fluted surfaces also reflect the light in a special way. This further emphasises the lively depth effect. Optimum room acoustics with the new solid wood profiles from MOCOPINUS. „The Experimental One“ variant of the PINUMONT profile system was classified in Class B as a highly sound-absorbing ceiling suspension in accordance with DIN EN ISO 11654. Three Siberian larch versions are available: Natural Larixron, Alpinova10 finished with a silver-grey glaze and Mattnova20 with a matt onyx-black, semi-transparent wood glaze and metallic shiny aluminium pigments. ARCHITECTURE On trend – wood for interiors. The sustainable PINUMONT profiles are available in four three-dimensional design variants for creative interior design. finished profiles from 50 m 2 are also available in all RAL colours. The profiles are available in these sizes: Thickness 19.5 mm and 32.5 mm, width 140 mm and 144 mm, length 4 m. Three-dimensional design shapes with one basic profile The design-oriented innovation PINUMONT is based on a parallelogram and a Z-profile. However, since surfaces do not have to be sealed weatherproof for this purpose, installation on ceilings and walls in rooms is possible without a Z-profile. Four different shapes can be designed with a vertical or horizontal installation: “The Calm One”, “The Experimental One“, “The Small Wave” and “The Big Wave”. After the selected design has been submitted, the specialist craftsman cuts and preassembles the profiles before carrying out final installation on site. Corresponding parts lists, calculation tools and assembly instructions make everything simple. The highest room acoustics in Class B in accordance with DIN EN ISO 11654 Ceilings in particular contribute towards optimum room acoustics. As a ceiling suspension, PINUMONT creates the ideal conditions for this with the geometry of the profiles arranged threedimensionally, the micro-fluted surfaces and the properties of natural wood. To this end, the cut parallelogram profiles are installed with suitable spacers and polyester fleece. All four design variants are suitable as sound-absorbing acoustic elements. “The Experimental One” variant was tested by independent testing institutes in accordance with DIN EN ISO 11654, and was rated in Class B as highly absorbent with a sound absorption level of αW 0,80 - 0,85“. These values are particularly recommended for areas where there is a high demand for optimum room acoustics, such as open-plan offices, meeting rooms, restaurants or schools. Wood profiles assembled to form a space-dividing design element The many different uses for PINUMONT are continued in a functional room divider. For this, MOCOPINUS has preassembled the parallelogram profiles into modules, with the dimensions 190 x 97.5 cm. Several modules can be interlinked in order to divide larger areas. The Siberian larch solid wood profiles are mounted on a black steel stand. The arrangement forms a “small wave”, with this three-dimensional look effectively shaping the decorative element. Rooms not only gain a functional structure; the high-quality room divider is also an attractive furnishing detail with a naturally warm atmosphere. www.mocopinus.com PINUMONT room divider – an attractive design element made of Siberian larch and delivering a high level of functionality and sustainability. The micro-fluted parallelogram profiles are prefabricated into modules on a stand. Several modules can be interlinked. No. 3 • August 2020 21
