LIGNA Solutions for

LIGNA Solutions for Focus Topic “Smart Surface Technology“ Hall 17 | Stand B47 WAGNER, together with WALTHER Spritz- & Lackiersysteme GmbH, a member of the WAGNER Group, will present innovative solutions for the finishing of wood surfaces. In line with this year‘s focus topic in surface technology, components and system solutions will be shown which meet the increasing demand for digital and automated coating processes in the wood processing industry. As a system supplier, WAGNER offers the complete product range for woodworking applications, including application, mixing and control devices as well as booths, feeding, movement and recovery technology. Transparency and process reliability in industrial coating can thus be increased, which in turn minimizes downtime and increases productivity. COATIFY provides updates with information on the current production and quality status. Critical messages or warnings are issued to indicate necessary system modifications. As one of the highlights WAGNER presents the new information and management platform COATIFY. Via the web-based Internet of Things platform, systems for liquid and powder coating as well as for bonding and sealing can be intelligently monitored. The platform can be accessed via PC, tablet or smartphone and enables secure access to one‘s own production data from anywhere. Visitors can also find out about the wide range of manual and automated solutions in the liquid and powder sectors. Electrostatic powder coating of standard MDF boards opens up a wide range of applications for wood processing companies. Compared to traditional liquid coating, lamination or foil coating, this technology offers considerable cost and energy savings, seamless allround coating, sustainability and immediate further processing. In the area of liquid coating solutions, the new manual airspray gun GM 1030P will be presented, which can do more than previously available models: It provides high-quality coatings with efficient material consumption, a wide range of applications, fatigue-free handling and unrivalled low operating costs. www.wagner-group.com Powder coating of MDF standard boards Hall 17 | Stand A36 Hermes Launches New Products at Ligna 2019 Efficient Abrasives for the Board Industry Hermes Schleifmittel presents its new ProBoard © broadband type RP 274 with combination backing and the new Brilliance FC 164-Longlife VEL abrasive disc for the first time at LIGNA 2019 in Hanover. With the new ProBoard © RP 274 broadband type with combination backing, Hermes Schleifmittel completes its product range for highperformance and economical processing of chipand fibreboards. Depending on individual requirements, users can choose between ProBoard © wide belts with special backing types (paper, paper/ cloth combination, cloth or stitch bonded cloth) and segmented or unsegmented versions. The new combination type is low-stretch and is particularly suitable for heavy use due to its high tear resistance. Special overlap joint and homogenous grain coating guarantee best surface quali- ties. As with all products in the ProBoard © family the antistatic coating prevents early clogging with abrasive dust. In addition, easy handling when setting up the grinding machines and low graphitic wear when used on contact bars due to the smooth, smooth and flat back structure of the carrier contribute to higher economic efficiency. Hermes will be presenting the new Brilliance FC 164-Longlife VEL film blade disc at LIGNA, especially for processing painted (wood) surfaces. It combines the advantages of cloth (high edge stability and tear resistance) and paper types (high flexibility and low weight). The uniform Hermes ProBoard © RP 274 with combination backing grain orientation on the film guarantees perfect surfaces qualities during sanding. The semi-open coating and the special Hermes longlife coating prevent premature clogging with abrasive dust and significantly extends the service life of this new development. www.hermes-schleifwerkzeuge.com 32 No. 2 • May 2019

Digitized Systems Technology for the Future Hall 27 Weinig’s competence for large-scale systems is increasingly in demand on the market. Against this background, the “Automation & Digital Business“ unit was recently integrated into Weinig Concept GmbH. It brings together the entire know-how of the Weinig Group. At LIGNA, visitors to the stand can experience a complex production line consisting of eight interconnected Weinig components live in action. In daily demonstrations, the complete processing line from the raw material to the end product will be shown. The networked processes represent the spectrum of the Weinig standard W4.0 digital under realistically simulated production conditions. This system uses robot technology and Weinig scanner technology. The new models CombiScan Evo R200 and CombiScan NextGen will be presented. The software RaiNet is used for automated geometric measurement of the wood. All components are centrally controlled via the new Weinig Central System Control. This is a single-operator solution that establishes a connection between the customer’s in-house IT system (ERP) and production cells. The production cells receive the necessary order-related data and report operating data back. In Hanover, semi-finished products will be manufactured live as instructed by the Central System Control unit and will then be further processed directly in various applications at other stations of the Weinig stand. The new business unit ”Automation & Digital Business” will present the current version of the Weinig App Suite alongside the Weinig live demonstrations in Hanover. The free app offers real-time monitoring, among other things. All functions are now also available as a browser application. The Weinig App Suite is integrated into the cloud-based Siemens IoT operating system MindSphere, which serves Weinig as the basis for a new standard in networking, forward-looking services and the application of production technology. Using secure data communications, MindSphere guarantees manufacturer-independent connection of machines, applications and apps. Weinig Concept: The CLT success story The engineering specialist Concept focuses its LIGNA presence on CLT competence. A current customer project will be presented. Specific processes of the individually configured production line for timber construction will be integrated into the large-scale system at the Weinig stand. Demonstrations will be held to support the presentation of the overall concept. www.weinig.com Surface Inspection of Fiber Boards Hall 26 | Stand C42 Slim and powerful. With an installation depth of only 200 mm in direction of production, the new GreCon SUPERSCAN finds its place in every production line of wood-based panels. This small installation depth has become possible thanks to an innovative LED lighting concept. The SUPERSCAN analyzes the photometric and structural properties of the surface of wood-based panels with a high resolution. A detection of low contrast defects, as e.g. folds in decor paper, is possible. Dust and decor shreds do not impair the detection performance, but are classified as pseudo defects and are not taken into account when analyzing the quality The SUPERSCAN achieves impressive results in registered embossing monitoring. With registered embossing, the surface structure which is embossed by a press plate into a floor panel or a furniture board matches the decor pattern. For high quality appearance, the structure must be positioned on the decor pattern with high precision. The SUPERSCAN supports adjusting the press and continuously monitors the synchronicity of structure and decor. Consequently, an early intervention to correct the production process is possible. HECO ® -Schrauben Innovation. Safety. Future. High end products for professionals GreCon-Performance-Center allows easily analyzing and assessing the processes of all production lines equipped with a SUPERSCAN. Thus, the Performance-Center complements the user-friendly and intuitive operation of the SUPERSCAN praised by the users. Another step towards digitization of quality assurance has become possible. www.fagus-grecon.com HECO-Schrauben GmbH & Co.KG, Dr.-Kurt-Steim-Straße 28, D-78713 Schramberg Tel.: +49 (0)74 22 / 9 89-0, Fax: +49 (0) 74 22 / 9 89-200 E-Mail: info@heco-schrauben.de, Internet: www.heco-schrauben.com No. 2 • May 2019 33
