FAIRS Innovative

FAIRS Innovative Solutions with Hardwood Veneer Hardwood specialist Danzer presented new hardwood products at IWF Atlanta. The Darlington, Pennsylvania-based company Danzer Veneer Americas showcased thick-cut veneers and several technical veneer innovations, including new Danzer Linea species and wood metal composites. Customers ‐ manufacturers of quality wood products ‐ had the chance to touch, feel and learn more about these stand-out natural veneers at the biennial show. The Danzer exhibit at IWF Atlanta featured: Danzer Linea: A technical real wood veneer unique to the industry with a linear, rifttype look that exhibits depth and light reflections from the grain and stands for consistent quality where larger surface areas need to be covered with consistent appearance. At this year’s IWF, Danzer presented established species, including European Birch, American White Oak and Black Walnut, as well as new ones, including Black Birch and Fumed Larch. Danzer Freeform: This veneer is created through an industrial process, featuring organically shaped metal inlays to offer new design possibilities with wood, to add functionality and/ or carry a brand message. Sliced flooring lamellas manufactured with proprietary slicers, producing little to no waste compared to sawn lamellas - for high-quality, thick-cut decorative deck layers. A prototype lightweight substrate panel that is as strong as standard engineered panels. Danzer products allow furniture and cabinet makers, flooring companies, architects and designers, and other manufacturers to create completely new and differentiated looks. ”The potential is endless,” says Vijay Reddy, Vice President, Product Management and Marketing at Danzer Veneer Americas and a 20-year industry ve- teran. ”Combining different wood species and materials to meet customer specifications leads to more recognition, more demand ‐ and more sales. Our team was excited to show our visitors the possibilities that our Linea veneers and other high-quality wood products provide them, and their customers.” www.danzer.com Missler Software Presented TopSolidWood 2019 TopSolidWood’s innovative parametric and associative software allows fast and accurate solid modeling creation. Models of any shape or complexity, with any imaginable interior design or furniture can be created with a full suite of tools dedicated to wood manufacturing. Global project customization, big assemblies management, File revision, Manufacturing your legacy data and much more other tools that provides TopSolid’Wood will convince you to move forward with us. Here are just some of the new features of TopSolid’Wood that will be on show at the exhibition and will enable users of the software to design parts even faster and more precisely: • Grain matching for nesting • An automated nesting process • Highly efficient bended components Advanced 2D functions • Improved realistic rendering performance Paul Demchuk, President of Vectorline says: ”We considered a number of software systems, but none really met the market‘s need for a totally customizable, engineering design tool. Then at last, we discovered TopSolid. We were blown away!” www.topsolid.fr 14 No. 4 • October 2018

FAIRS IWF Show Exceeds Expectations for Biesse Biesse is proud to announce that IWF 2018 was another record-setting performance for Biesse America and Biesse Canada, even exceeding our expectations, with approximately million USD of duly signed orders, making this our most successful show ever in North America. With over 27,000 sqft of booth space, packed with innovative technology, Biesse welcomed more than 1,400 companies in Atlanta. With the largest booth at IWF, Biesse was able to showcase a wide range of machinery, including integrated robotics and automated solutions to meet all levels of manufacturing needs. Robotic Sortation Biesse’s robotic sortation solution allows manufacturers of all sizes the ability to increase their batch size to be more random and achieve a better yield while lowering the cost of production. Parts are processed as they normally would be and then brought back together prior to assembly or customization. It isn’t necessary to increase batch size to derive the benefits of robotic sortation, either. Robotic sortation allows you to bring all parts back into the right sequence and prevents the need to manually sort prior to assembly. Stream with Winner W4 Biesse’s Stream A is a formidable high-production edgebander capable of end trimming up to 25m per minute and handling 22 mm solid wood edges. Equipped with the award winning AirForce System and new integrated PUR application system, the Stream A can also be easily combined with Biesse’s Winner W4, a fully automated system for returning and unloading parts. The Stream A, which delivers a perfect combination of Industry 4.0 efficiency and simplicity, also comes equipped with SOPHIA. Biesse’s new IoT cloud-based software management tool helps users achieve higher productivity by providing them with an easy-to-use dashboard containing real-time visibility of machine status, performance and functionality. Another attention getter from IWF was Biesse’s SOPHIA IoT platform. Attendees were able to experience first hand how this innovative technology provides a comprehensive overview of specific machine performance features with remote diagnostics, continuous updated statistics and full integration with the new PARTS Portal. www.biesseamerica.com Anzeige_WIN_57x115mm_4c.pdf 1 30.01.2014 08:50:31 CeraShield ‐ a Premium Solution for Solid Wood Machining Customized suctionand filter plants save up to 60% energy! The competence brand Toolmaker Solutions by CERATIZIT showcased its diverse range of solutions for wood machining and wood sawing with chrome grades at IWF in Atlanta, the largest trade fair of machinery, materials, supplies, and services in the western hemisphere for woodworking and related industries. During the event, the CERATIZIT team presented innovative solutions for wood machining and wood sawing, including CeraShield, the coated knife for solid wood machining, primary wood saw tips as well cylinders, segments and balls for band saws. With all these innovations customers can benefit from higher performance and a significant contribution to increased economic efficiency in production. Furthermore, KCR08 for profile blankets and KCR05+ for rods will be also presented. A particular highlight is the new chrome grade ”KCR18+” for saw tips and rectangular strips. CeraShield achieves ideal performance in both softwood and hardwood machining. The new knives are characterised by a particularly long-lasting cutting edge. This results from a combined coating and grinding process which minimises wear on the cutting surface. Customers benefit from minimised downtime, and thanks to the high surface quality further processing is easy. KCR18+ for saw tips and rectangular strips Like all KCR grades, the new KCR18+ grade from Toolmaker Solutions by CERATIZIT is based on a specific metallurgical structure. The enhanced protection against corrosion and oxidation ensures a high degree of process reliability. An improved ratio of hardness to fracture toughness guarantees higher performance potential. Saw tips in KCR18+ achieve very good results in the machining of primary wood. www.ceratizit.com C M Y CM MY CY CMY K ▪ Suction- and filter plants ▪ Mobile deduster ▪ Solutions for paint mist extraction ▪ Recycling of residual wood ▪ Briquetting presses ▪ Assembly - Service - Repair Höcker Polytechnik GmbH Borgloher Straße 1 · DE-49176 Hilter Fon + 49 (0) 5409 405 - 0 www.hoecker- polytechnik.de No. 4 • October 2018 15
