This applies both to the influences of the test object, flow resistances (conductance) or memory effects, and to the performance of the measurement technology used with very short cycle times. The spectrum of potential leak test technologies range from test methods using air as the test gas (pressure decay measurement and micro-flow) to highly sensitive and automated high-speed methods such as helium leak detection. Classical modeling of pumping and filling times often fail at very short cycle times. Therefore, laboratory tests or feasibility studies with direct comparison of the alternative measurement techniques are the optimal way to a production-accompanying test with the required short cycle times in large-scale production. supply can be implemented with one or more different test gases (e. g. helium and forming gas 95/5), compressed air and purge gases, and can include further measurement and control functions. The measurement technology can also be designed flexibly and, in addition to safety functions, include different detectors such as the mass spectrometric leak detectors shown in figure 3 or micro flow meters.
