World’s leading trade

World’s leading trade fair for grinding technology GrindTec 2022 15 - 18 March | Messe Augsburg | Germany | www.grindtec.de EMO MILANO report automation solution for single machines Tongtai, a leading Taiwanese machine tool manufacturer and well-known turn key solution provider, presented its automation solution for single machines to showcase the trend of smart manufacturing. With Tongtai’s total solution, customers are able to use machines to work with various loading and unloading equipment and different types of accessories to optimize productivity. The services include a robot arm with a 3D visual system, two loading methods, real-time quality inspection, a manufacturing schedule function and machine networking. further information: www.tongtai.com.tw/en/tongtai.php intelligent machine tool series for large-scale and high-precision machining In trends of the supply chain restructuring, aging population and unwillingness of young men to work at factories, the need for transforming and upgrading from traditional factories in Taiwan is increasing, and with the expected significant growth in semiconductor, automotive, aero space, medical, 5G and other industries, customers are in urgent need of high-precision five- axis machine tool products adap ted with “intelligent factory platform of production monitoring”. FFG launched intelligent machine tool series, such as the AI swing-head 5-axis machining center UB-660. It is very suitable for large-scale and high-precision machining, and focuses on “AI intelligence” and “performance”. In AI intelligence, AI UB-660 with FFG’s exclusive FFG data services platform, the machine tool has an AI application gateway installed, which can be integrated and uploads data to the FFG DATA SERVICES pLATFORM for analysis and presentation of the big data visualizations, such as automatic components detection, OEE utilization rate management, etc., and is also compatible with mobile devices. In addition, using components detection and AI maintenance, personnel inspections can be reduced, and management efficiency improves. In performance, the thermal errors and machining vibrations from mechanical structure are always the two major problems in machining. FFG developed the error compensation device and modeling analysis software, which resolves the three-axis thermal deformation and post-processing compensation. The precision of machining can be controlled within 0.02 mm, which is 80 % better than without compensation. If chatter is occurred in cutting process, FFG chatter suppression technology, using optimized algorithms and graphical interface, suppresses chattering within two seconds. In view of the key industries in the future of tool machines, including aerospace, automotive, transportation, energy, medical, intelligent manufacturing, 5G factory applications etc., the focus is in the related applications, such as composite processing, ultrasonic processing, 3D printing, special metal processing molding, artificial intelligence and machine learning, 5G applications. FFG also provides intelligent manufacturing and data analysis consultancy services, as well as plant-wide solutions to support industry 4.0, intelligent manufacturing, industry upgrade, digital transformations and even data services related applications, to assist their customers. further information: www.ffg-tw.com 22 no. 4, November 2021

World’s leading trade fair for grinding technology GrindTec 2022 15 - 18 March | Messe Augsburg | Germany | www.grindtec.de “Movement in evolution” EMO MILANO report Not satisfied with the sole role of leader in the world of precision mechanics, Hiwin believed in the philosophy of “Total Solution” thanks to the combination of HIWIN Technologies which develops and produces products for the world of mecha - nics and robotics and HIWIN Mikrosystem with its numerous customers and successful products in the field of mechatronics. Within the product range and exhibited at EMO 2021 were leading products, mainly concerning the world of automation, the mechanical industry in general and machine tools. Not only linear guides and ballscrews but also linear motors, rotary tables, roto-tilting tables, torque motors, drives and servomotors. In addition to these products HIWIN has also gained a foothold in the field of robotics thanks to SCARA’s articulated, multi-axis robots, electric grippers and harmonic reducers. In HIWIN Italy there is also the System Division, allowing the creation of systems designed entirely with HIWIN components. HIWIN therefore offers standardized designs but also customizable options. Highly specialized technical support comes from Italian engineers, customized solutions shaped together with the customers. And that’s not all: delivery time is short thanks to a large stock. Since 2013 HIWIN invested in Italian industry, today having about 150 employees in its headquarters in Brugherio and investing in new headquarter in Milanese backcountry. Visitors at EMO 2021 could touch the Direct Drive Torque Motor Rotary Table for Machine Tool industry, also an innovation, including the new range of 5 and 10 kg LU series SCARA robots and 5 and 10 kg GC series articulated robots, the intelligent ballscrew supporting industry 4.0, being a key component of precision machines. HIWIN i4.0BS ® is the first intelligent 4.0 ballscrew in the world, and it is able to connect machines in different kinds of machine applications. There also was the torque motor direct drive rotary table for applications in the machine tool market. Other innovations were the Datorker Rotary Actuator, an integration and a total solution consisting of servomotor, drive and harmonic reducers all exclusively made by HIWIN, the new E1 series drives and servomotors, the recently introduced stainless steel linear guideway in sizes 15, 20 and 25 and miniature linear guideways in sizes 2 and 3, added to the pre-existing ones 5, 7, 9, 12 and 15. further information: www.hiwin.tw Digitized intelligent automation AXILE presented AXILE G6 MPC & G8, the high-speed 5-axis VMC to help manufacturers reach automation production. With the G6 MpC, available with two or six pallets, operators can load raw workpieces, inspect and unload finished parts, while machining continues in the vertical machi ning center, increasing operational efficiency. With the MpC-2, the two-pallet solution, manufacturers can embrace a Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS), of 12, 24, or 36 pallets in total, by integrating one to three machines and two loading stations, depending on the scale required. G8 has a powerful gantry design perfectly balancing rigidity and precision, ideal for the machining of complex workpieces. With a maximum loading capacity up to 1,300 kg on a swiveling, rotary table, complemented by high-performance built-in spindles, the G8’s agility enables production of a wide range of large parts and tools. Both machines are supported by the proprietary SMT and ART technologies, AXILE’s digitalized intelligent automation solutions enable machinists to use smart manufacturing to increase operational efficiency and productivity, optimize energy, staffing costs, and achieve a 24/7 unmanned production, thereby significantly boosting ROI. AXILE builds agile, smart 5-axis VMCs with leading automation solutions for manufacturers of complex parts and components. The advanced proprietary technologies serve, among others, highly sophisticated manufacturers of complex parts and components for applications in aerospace, die and mold, medical, and general job shop. further information: www.axilemachine.com no. 4, November 2021 23
